Terms & Conditions – BCWW Rally

A. Eligibility

  1. The promotion is open to UK residents aged 18 years or over at the time of registration, except for employees of the promoter, their families, its agents or anyone professionally connected with the promotion.
  2. No purchase is required to enter.
  3. The promotion consists of a number of stages:  Stage 1 (Registration), Stage 2 (Regional Auditions), Stage 3 (Regional Show reel Events), Stage 4 (The BCWW Rally).

B. Stage 1 – Registration

  1. Entrants must register by following the registration process at www.lynxplayers.com.
  2. Closing date for receipt of registration entries by the promoter is 12:00 GMT on 9 April 2007.
  3. Entries must be from teams comprising 3 players.  Entries will be accepted from 1 person on behalf of a team, but other team members must have agreed to be entered into this promotion and be bound by these promotion rules. 
  4. Entrants must submit:
    • The name, email address and date of birth of each team player
    • They can also choose to submit photos and a link to a video on YouTube.
  5. All entries must be in accordance with the Code of Conduct set out at the end of these Rules.
  6. The promoter reserves the right to exclude any content submitted which it deems inappropriate in its absolute discretion.
  7. Entrants herby agree that the Promoter reserves the right to edit and make minor alterations to any elements of the entry if required by its professional advisors, The promoter agrees to notify the Entrant of such changes if required.
  8. Each team hereby assigns all rights including without limitation copyright, trade marks, design rights and any other rights (whether registered or unregistered) in the team’s entry whether now known or created in the future to the promoter. Each team member hereby acknowledges that the promoter shall have the right to use that team’s entry for Lynx brand-related publicity (including showing the entry on the promoter’s corporate website). Entrants agree to execute all such documents as may be required to assign the rights in the entry to the promoter at any time.
  9. All valid entries received by the closing date will be judged before by a panel of judges at least one of whom shall be independent of the promoter.  Entries will be assessed against Personal presentation, presentation in front of the camera, humour and group dynamic.  No later than 12:00 GMT on 12 April 2007the judges will select the 92 teams whose entries, in the judge’s opinion, best meet the judging criteria. Those teams selected will be notified by telephone or email by 12:00 GMT on 13 April 2007 and will go through to Stage 2 (Regional Auditions). 

C. Stage 2 – Regional Auditions

  1. The 92 winning teams from Stage 1 will be invited to attend an audition in the city they have indicated is closest to them at registration (Manchester, Leeds, Birmingham or London). Auditions will take place over 2 days on 14/04//07 and 15/04/07. All Stage 1-winning team members must be available to attend these auditions on these days.  Failure of any team member to attend the regional audition they have indicated is closest to them will mean that their team forfeits the right to any further participation in the promotion. Teams must travel to the regional auditions at their own expense.
  2. During each regional audition, teams will be set challenges both verbal and physical including but not limited to dance, performance and interview which they must complete in front of camera and a panel of judges, at least one of whom is independent of the promoter.  . Team members may also be required to sign additional terms regarding their participation in the auditions, including, without limitation, giving their consent to the filming of the auditions and agreeing to abide by the conditions of the owner of the premises at which the auditions will be held.
  3. Each team will be judged against the following criteria: Personal presentation, presentation in front of the camera, humour and group dynamic.
  4. 3 teams will be selected by the judges at each regional audition to go forward to Stage 3 of the promotion.  The selected teams will be notified via telephone and email by 15 April 2007.

D. Stage 3 – Regional Show Reel Events

  1. At least one member of each team selected to go forward to Stage 3 must be available to come back to the hotel where they attended their regional audition at Stage 2 on 15/04/07 for a briefing.
  2. At Stage 3, the remaining teams will be set challenges which they must attempt between 19/04/07 and 22/04/07.  The teams will be required to film their challenge attempts, and produce audio-visual footage of not less than 2 hours duration of such attempts. The challenges shall include but not be limited to interaction with female members of the public but we advise against inappropriate behaviour.All relevant audio-visual equipment will be supplied to the teams by the promoter.
  3. Teams must be available for the Stage 3 regional show reel event in their selected regional city on the evening of the following dates:
    1. Manchester 26/04/07
    2. Birmingham 26/04/07
    3. London 27/04/07
    4. Leeds 27/04/07
  4. At each regional event, a show reel of 3 minutes duration will be shown to the attendees of the event (which may include who??). The show reel will be edited by the promoter from the footage provided by each team. The editing of the show reel will be at the discretion of the promoter but will be created to show what the promoter believes to be the best content from the footage provided by each team as per the identified criteria as shown in rule C. 3  above.  
  5. One winning team from each region will be selected in the evening at the regional event. The winning team will be the team whose edited show reel, in the opinion of a panel of judges (at least one of whom is independent of the promoter) ranks the highest in terms of personal presentation, presentation in front of the camera, humour and group dynamic. Each winning team will be notified in person.  A total of 4 teams, one from each regional event, will proceed to Stage 4 of the promotion, the BCWW Rally in Miami.
  6. The winning teams must be available to travel to London on the evening of 15/05/07 and will return the evening of 21/05/07 arriving in London on 22/05/07 am. Travel to and from their local regional city will be provided.

E. Stage 3 - Lynx Players Party: Free Prize Draw Terms and Conditions

  1. This Free Prize Draw is open to all UK and Channel Islands’ residents aged 18 years or over except employees of the Promoter, their families, agents or anyone professionally connected with the Promotion.
  2. No purchase necessary.
  3. Entry by sending an email to lynx_mynx@agencyrepublic.com with entrant’s name, telephone number, date of birth and the event that they would like to attend (Manchester, Leeds, Birmingham or London). Details of the times and locations of the events is available at www.thelynxeffect.com.
  4. Each entry must specify only one event location. Entries limited to one entry per person per day. No entrant may win more than one prize. No entries from agents, third parties, organised groups or entries automatically generated by computer will be accepted. No incomplete, illegible or corrupted entries will be accepted. No entries not in accordance with the entry instructions will be accepted. No responsibility is accepted for entries lost, damaged or delayed as a result of any network, computer hardware or software failure of any kind. Proof of sending is not proof of receipt.
  5. Closing date for receipt of entries is 12pm GMT on 25/04/07.
  6. For each location, the first three entries drawn at random by an independent judge will win the prize. There will be one draw taking place at 1pm on 25/04/07.
  7. There are 12 prizes to be won consisting of 3 pairs of tickets for each of the four regional Lynx Players Party events. Each winner wins one pair of tickets to the Lynx Players Party Event specified in their winning entry. There is no cash alternative.
  8. The decision of the judge is final. In the event of unforeseen circumstances the Promoter reserves the right to substitute the prize for an alternative of equal or greater value. No correspondence will be entered into.
  9. Winners will be notified by email or telephone on Wednesday 25/04/07 and their tickets will be left on the door. Prizes unclaimed on the night of the event will lapse.
  10. The winners’ details (name and event) will be made available on request to those enclosing a stamped SAE to "Lynx Players Events” Agency Republic, The Glassmill, 1 Battersea Bridge Rd, London, SW11 3BZ within ten weeks after the closing date.
  11. The winners may be required to participate in publicity arising from this Promotion.
  12. By entering the Promotion, all entrants will be deemed to have accepted and be bound by the rules and consent to the transfer of their personal data to the Data Controller for the purposes of the administration of this Promotion and any other purposes to which the entrant has consented. All entry instructions form part of the rules.
  13. These terms and conditions shall be governed by English law and the courts of England and Wales shall have exclusive jurisdiction.

F. Stage 4 – the BCCW Rally, Miami, Florida

  1. The 4 teams selected from Stage 3 must be free to attend the BCCW Rally between 15/05/07 and 22/05/07.
  2. Teams travel to London on the evening of the 15/05/07.
  3. Each of the 4 teams will be sent a detailed participation pack specifying what they will need to bring for the BCWW Rally event, and specifying further conditions of participation, which they may be required to sign.
  4. Team members are responsible for ensuring they have all necessary travel documents to enable them to travel to Miami, Florida USA (including valid passports, visas and suchlike).
  5. In Miami, teams will be required to attend a number of events and prescribed locations at which they will be required to take part in a number of challenges, including but not limited to physical challenges, interaction with the public and the following of instruction. For each challenge, the teams will be awarded a score. The scoring system will be devised by the promoter, and the promoter’s decision on scoring matters will be final. Teams will be assigned a member of staff by the promoter who will instruct and guide them on the challenges. Teams will be required to follow these instructions. All challenges will be filmed by a film crew, content of which will be used to publicise the campaign. On the 20th May at 22:00, the scores will be totaled and a winning team will be announced.

G. General

  1. By entering the promotion, team members are deemed to accept and be bound by the rules and consent to the transfer of their personal data to the promoter for the purposes of the administration of this promotion and any other purposes to which the entrant has consented. All entry instructions form part of the rules.
  2. No entrant may win more than one prize. Only one entry per team.  No person may enter as part of more than one team. No entries from agents, third parties, organised competitor groups or applications automatically generated by computer will be accepted. No incomplete, illegible or corrupted entries or those not in accordance with the entry instructions will be accepted. No responsibility is accepted for entries lost, damaged or delayed as a result of network computer hardware or software failures of any kind. Proof of sending is not proof of receipt.
  3. The decision of the judges is final at all Stages of the promotion.
  4. Each team member agrees to be filmed as part of the auditions, regional events and during the BCWW Rally. The entrants are required to participate in publicity arising from this promotion.
  5. The promoter reserves the right to substitute prizes for alternatives of equal or greater value. The prize on offer is to go on the BCWW Rally in Miami including all flights and accommodation.
  6. The names/counties of winning team members will be available for a period of 10 weeks      from [date] by sending an SAE to Lynx Players, Out of the Blue, 58 Parker Street, London WC2B 5PZ.
  7. The promoter is Unilever UK Limited 3 St James’s Road, Kingston Upon Thames, Surrey, KT1 2BA.
